and notebook paper, cardboard, glass, plastic jugs, magazines, and other products.
Obiora saw a large decrease in the number of times that their kitchen trash—it was a chore shared by Obiora and Irucka—had to be emptied. He encouraged turning off the lights when they were not being used and after leaving an empty room, running water to brush teeth and turning lights on at night only as needed, buying recycled notebook paper (before it was whitened/bleached), etc.
One book that served as a valuable resource to Obiora and his twin brother in their youth was 50 Simple Things You Can Do to Save the Earth by The Earth–Works Group. I, Obiora Embry, personally recommend that every family read the original or the revised edition as it gives simple and doable tasks that can help curb climate change, save money, and keep the Earth inhabitable for future humans.
About 13 years ago, Obiora came full circle and returned to his roots. As an adult, he is doing a lot of what he grew up doing and then some...He also has begun to go "beyond green" and to look at a deeper consciousness of being and doing, which he calls eco–consciousness.
